Automatic Writing
Automatic writing is considered writing that is dictated by a spirit or the person’s unconscious mind. It is also referred to as trance writing because it is writing that is done without consciousness and with whatever comes into one’s mind. This is considered a means of delving into the uninhibited subconscious mind where the true person resides and where deep and mystical beliefs and feelings can be approached.
There are some psychotherapists who use trance writing because they believe it will discharge repressed memories. However, there is no scientific proof that trance writing has any therapeutic importance.
People who believe in trance writing claim that it can reach into other beings to gather information and to offer guidance. Those people also believe that information can be extrapolated from the subconscious mind and spiritual energy can be transmitted in order to achieve personal growth.
One such proponent of automatic writing even created a Martian alphabet to transmit messages from Mars to her clients. Apparently this medium’s Martian language had a similarity to her native French language.
Disbelievers in automatic writing believe it to be just a game, but it could be useful for self-discovery in that people taking part in automatic writing may be forced to look deep into themselves and discover and admit things they would not otherwise do. But this discovery would most likely come from a person’s conscious mind, not his subconscious. After all there is no scientific evidence that reveals that a person’s true self can be found in the unconscious rather than the conscious. A person may be more likely to “spill his guts” if he is extremely relaxed, or even drunk.
A form of automatic writing, if evaluated properly, may increase personal growth, but by itself, automatic writing will not produce self-growth any more than any other human activity. Some people have had horrendous experiences with automatic writing that they even believed that Satan himself was behind it. It is clearly better not to reveal what is in the minds of some people.
The Art of Dowsing
The scientific word for dowsing is radioesthesia. Radioesthesia (dowsing) is described as the interaction of the mind of the dowser and the energy of the object of interest. The practice of dowsing is usually undertaken to find lost people or lost objects. Many times, dowsing is used to find water and minerals.
The most common method to dowse is to use L-rods, which are bent wires that can be directed towards a certain area. To create a set of L-rods, all you need to do is to get two metal coat hangers, cut off the long wires at the bottoms; bend one end of each hanger about four inches to form a 90 degree L shape. The long end becomes the pointer and the small end becomes the handle. Then get a plastic drinking straw and cut it in half; to form the sleeve of each handle, put one piece of the straw over the smaller end of each L-rod. The L-rod can now swivel easily and not be affected by the hand muscles. Now hold the L-rod in each hand, horizontally to the ground, and point it toward the item that is to be measured.
In order to measure a person’s energy field, have him or her take off any crystals or jewelry. Then step back three paces, turn and face the person; hold the L-rods parallel to the ground and point them toward your person. Say out loud to yourself what the L-rods are measuring. This is an important step because your mind is very exact and will measure precisely what you tell it to. For example, if you state “I am measuring the reserve bio energy field of this body,” put all your attention only on this person, and don’t let your mind think about any other subject, because that could affect the outcome. As you focus on that person, slowly walk towards the person, while keeping the L-rods straight and level. As you enter the energy field, the left wire will go to the left and the right wire will go to the right, thus becoming wide open. Then determine the distance between the wires and the body and create the healing change.
Dowse the body again. This time step back at least eight paces, turn and walk toward the body keeping the L-rods parallel and pointing towards the subject. When you arrive at the energy field of the body the wires will again swing open (the left one swinging out to the left and the right swinging out to the right). Once again measure the distance between the wires and the body, then compare that measurement with the first one. The difference will determine the change you made by the healing.
This method can also determine if the person’s crystals or jewelry have any effect on the energy field. Using the procedure stated above, measure the subject with no jewelry or crystals on, then add the crystals and/or jewelry and measure again.
This method can be utilized to dowse the energy field that surrounds people, animals, plants and things. With energy health, the body of a patient can be dowsed before and after treatment to observe any energy changes. By measuring the results, conclusions can be reached about the effectiveness of our methods.
